OUR MISSION
“Go where God calls us to go, to do what we are sent to do, make disciples.”
OUR BELIEFS
As a Church of the Nazarene we share an agreed upon statement of beliefs. What we believe is listed below and we believe these to be faithfully supported by Scripture. Therefore, our beliefs directly influence what we do and why we do it.
We believe in one God revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1, Leviticus 19:2, Deuteronomy 6:4-5, Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19-20, John 14:6-27, Galatians 4:4-6, Ephesians 2:13-18)
We believe the Bible to be divinely inspired containing all things necessary to our salvation, faith, and Christian living. (Luke 24:44-47, John 10:35, 1 Corinthians. 15:3-4, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe humanity is born corrupted in nature bent toward sin. We believe whoever does not repent of their sin is eternally and hopelessly lost. (Matthew 22:36-40 (with 1 John 3:4), Romans 3:23, Ezekiel 18:30-32, John 1:9-2:4, Acts 5:31, Romans 5:6-8)
We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race. We believe anyone who repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the corruption of sin. (Isaiah 53:5-6, Mark 10:45, Luke 24:46-48, John 1:29, John 3:14-17)
We believe that sanctification is the work of God through the filling of the Holy Spirit which transforms believers into the likeness of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 3:11-12; John 15:1-11, Romans 6:11-13, Romans 12:1-15:3, 1 Thessalonians 3:13)
We believe that Christ our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place. (Matthew 25:31-46, John 14:1-3, Acts 1:9-11, Revelation 1:7-8; 22:7-20)
